City Council Candidate (District 3)
Hello. My name is Laurie Merrick, and I am running for the Garden Grove City Council in District 3.
I am asking for your support.
I was Military "Brat", as my father was an Air Force Fighter Pilot. My family lived all over the country (Germany, Florida, Texas) and settled back in California when my father retired since all of my family are Californians.
I have lived in Garden Grove for the past 30 years. I am married and raised my 4 children here, IN GARDEN GROVE. My 4 boys went through the Garden Grove Public School System. I was active in their school life and managed the Pacifica High School Hockey Team for 9 Years.
I have been and continue to be active in the community, helped start the Central Garden Grove Neighborhood Association (served as Secretary and Webmaster); in which we handed the city their 1st referendum on a building exception, in order to preserve the neighborhood standards.
Together, I will make sure you have a voice in OUR community, ensure we keep the council non-partisan and pro-city, and maintain high standards within our city representatives... myself included!
